- Saturday August 25th we’re having a party at the Rees’s Pitt! More info to come but we’ll probably start at around 3 pm and go until dark! We’ll get a sheet out for potluck food when the time comes. We’ll do hamburgers and hotdogs just like last time! Invite any family and friends! Hope you guys can make it!
We’re past hump day, and now it’s time for some heavy lifting! Hopefully you guys are too smoked from yesterday, I know it was pretty brutal! So we get to slow it down a bit today and not have to breathe too heavy today!
Now the video below talks about positions for the snatch. We’ll be doing some hang snatches today. Which means it’s the position right above the knee or in the video what he calls the “mid thigh snatch”. The only difference with us today is we will be catching the snatch ABOVE parallel. Now to some of you, you do a great job getting underneath the bar and catching it in a quarter squat. The problem is that when it gets heavier and you have to get under the bar more, you still only drop about an inch under the bar, which means you end up pressing the bar. So today commit to dropping lower than an inch under the bar, and if it turns into a squat snatch, oh well! At least you’re getting under it!
